The Ref. 5990 – Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph

Patek Philippe created the Nautilus collection of men’s watches with the goal of making a masculine watch that had a strong frame but remained true to the elegance of the Patek brand. The original design was inspired by portholes from maritime ships and even the newest timepieces retain this character. It is a classic sports watch that has a distinct look that is highly sought after.

Announced at Baselworld 2014, the Ref. 5990/1A is the newest addition to Patek Philippe’s Nautilus line and it is the first watch they have released that combines dual-time functionality with a chronograph. These functions are powered by a new automatic movement, Caliber CH28-520 C FUS, which can be viewed through the sapphire crystal case back. The iconic design of the Nautilus case remains intact by flawlessly integrating the time correctors at nine o’clock and chronograph pushers at three o’clock. The black dial on the Ref. 5990/1A was brilliantly designed with a light-to-dark gradient and an embossed horizontal pattern. A large date subdial is located at twelve o’clock, with the chronograph counter below at six o’clock. The Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph has a sporty look packed with a useful mix of complications that is sure to impress.
