One Minute Watch: Tudor Black Bay Chrono Dark

One Minute Watch with John Carter

Pre-Owned Tudor Black Bay Chrono Dark Ref. 79360DK

With its unique all black design, the Tudor Black Bay Chrono Dark stands out from other models in the Tudor collection. This special edition chronograph is a brilliant blend of racing and dive watch design. It was created as a limited edition to celebrate Tudor’s partnership with the 2019 Rugby World Cup and their sponsored team, the New Zealand All Blacks. The production was limited to one watch for every player who has ever played for the New Zealand All Blacks, which would be roughly 1,200 watches, and each watch is individually engraved on the caseback.

For this special edition, Tudor took the standard steel Black Bay Chrono and coated it in a matte black PVD coating to create an entirely satin finish. Directly derived from the thin film technology originally developed by NASA for its space programs, physical vapor deposition (PVD) enables inorganic materials to be bonded with metals.

This Tudor Black Bay Chrono Dark is in excellent pre-owned condition with only light signs of wear. This watch was purchased in fall of 2020 and includes its original boxes, manuals, tag and certificate.

Created to celebrate Tudor’s partnership with the 2019 Rugby World Cup and the New Zealand All Blacks, the limited edition Black Bay Chrono Dark is truly unique with its all black design. Using thin film technology originally developed by NASA, the 41mm steel case and bracelet is finished with a black PVD coating to create an entirely satin finish in matte black.

The Black Bay Chrono Dark brilliantly blends a sports chronograph with a dive watch. The dive-style black dial features applied luminous markers and Tudor’s signature Snowflake hands, with the addition of two sunken chronograph counters and a date aperture at six o’clock.

The production of this special edition model was limited to one watch for every player who has ever played for the All Blacks rugby team, which would be roughly 1,200 watches. Each watch is engraved and individually numbered on the caseback, further adding to the collectability of the model.
