1955 Patek Philippe Calatrava (Ref. 565) [Sold]

This is a very rare and significant vintage Patek Philippe model. Released concurrently with the Ref. 570, the Calatrava Ref. 565 was a replacement for the original Ref. 96, correcting the 96’s major flaw: the 31mm case size. Coming in at a “oversized” 35.5mm, the new Calatrava collection proved to be a lasting and worthy successor. The Ref. 565 specifically addressed the issue of water resistance with a screw-down back- it was considered the more practical and modern option over the Ref. 570. This example dates to 1955 and includes a sharp dial with gold lapped indexes and the Caliber 27 S C with center seconds as confirmed by the Extract from the Archives. Just fully serviced by Patek Philippe, the watch is ready for another several generations of wear and enjoyment!
