1989 Rolex Cosmograph Daytona “Inverted Six” [Sold]
In 1988, Rolex finally introduced its first self-winding chronograph. Using a modified Zenith El Primero movement, the all-new automatic Cosmograph Daytona completely revived the model and the change was the first step in creating one of the most desirable and hard-to-get watches on the market today. This example, resplendent in 18k yellow gold with a champagne-color dial, is one of the earliest versions, dating to 1989. The watch is in phenomenal condition and features the rare “inverted six” dial. Sorry, no box or papers.
