Introduced in 1985, the Ref. 3919 signaled a sort of rebirth of Patek Philippe as a company. Still reeling from the Quartz Crisis, Patek needed something unique to differentiate themselves from the market at large. The answer was this now-iconic combination of a clean white dial with black hands and Roman numerals, surrounded by a hand-engraved Hobnail bezel, all in an ultra-thin Calatrava case.
