Originally designed to house one of the first self-winding chronographs, the Heuer Monaco has become a true icon in Swiss watchmaking. Named after the legendary Grand Prix race, the Heuer Monaco is a watch for anyone that loves vintage motorsport. Steve McQueen famously wore a blue-dial Monaco in the 1971 movie Le Mans.
This particular watch dates to 1972 and features the less-seen metallic grey dial with black subdials. At the heart of the watch is the Caliber 11, one of the very first self-winding chronograph movements ever created. It is a modular movement so the crown and pushers were positioned on opposite sides of the case to keep it as thin as possible.

Dating to 1972, this version showcases a metallic grey dial with black painted subdials that give it a more understated appearance. The chronograph hand and red accents add a pop of color to the dial and serve as a nice compliment to the creamy lume on the hands.
