1970 Rolex Daytona (6239)
Introduced in 1963, the Ref. 6239 was the first Rolex chronograph to bear the “Cosmograph” name, and also the first introduction of the design elements we now associate with the Daytona: inverse colors for the chronograph counters, and an external tachymetre scale. This basic design carries forward to today! This example, from the last year of 6239 production, is in excellent vintage condition and includes its original “C&I” Oyster Rivet bracelet dated 7-70 and the original box, manual, and service papers from 1973.
