1957 Patek Philippe Calatrava [Sold]
This is a very special and collectible vintage Patek Philippe. The Ref. 2551 was among the first Calatrava models to receive the new caliber 12-600, Patek Philippe’s first self-winding movement – widely considered to be the finest automatic movement ever made. The large, 36mm round 18k yellow gold “Disco Volante” case includes the iconic recessed “PP” crown, a feature it shares with its sister reference, the Ref. 2526. As if that weren’t enough, this example features a double-signed “Gubelin” dial! All in all, an exceptional vintage timepiece! Extract from the Archives included, which confirms the production date of 1957 and sale date of March 19th, 1958.
