Patek Spotlight: Ref. 5712/GR

Immediately recognizable with its unique case shape, the Nautilus collection from Patek Philippe is among the most desired timepieces for the modern watch lover. Portholes from maritime ships were the inspiration for its original design and even the newest timepieces retain this iconic aesthetic. It is a classic sports watch with a distinct look that is highly sought after.
A MASTERFUL MOVEMENT
At the heart of the Nautilus 5712GR is the Caliber 240 PS, a self-winding movement created wholly in-house by Patek Philippe. The movement can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back, which allows you to appreciate the immense amount of hand finishing. The combination of swirly perlage underneath the 22kt gold rotor and Geneva stripes make this automatic movement a wonder to observe.
MOON PHASE
This masterful movement enables numerous complications, including a moon phase indicator and a 48-hour power reserve. The multitude of complications on this timepiece makes it highly desirable and even more rare. The moon phase disc is cut from a wafer of Corundum crystal (Sapphire), then gold is condensed onto the disc by means of a vacuum process. Through this process, a photographic mask is used to create the shape of the moon and stars. This disc will complete one full cycle every 29.5 days, resetting with each lunation.
BRILLIANT AESTHETICS
The case is crafted in a combination of 18kt white and rose gold and is perfectly paired with a brown alligator strap and gradated slate gray dial. The dial is masterfully organized to house a small seconds dial in the four o’clock position, a moon phase display at seven o’clock and the power reserve indicator at ten o’clock. A screw down crown is a major contributor to its 60-meter water resistance rating, which allows you to wear it with peace of mind. Combining a sporty aesthetic with the refined touch of Patek Philippe, this is a watch made to withstand the tests of time.
