VIDEO: A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia

One Minute Watch with John Carter
Simply designed but beautifully executed, the Saxonia is A. Lange & Sohne’s version of a traditional dress watch. Crafted in 18k white gold with a stunning hand-wound mechanical movement, the Saxonia epitomizes refined elegance. With its simplistic design, less is most certainly more with this highly refined timepiece.
Produced in 2010, this version of the A. Lange and Sohne Saxonia was only available for one year. Epitomizing refined elegance, the Saxonia is a traditional dress watch perfectly executed with simple yet elegant aesthetics.
With its understated allure, the simple silver dial features alpha-style hands and baton markers crafted in white gold, and displays a small seconds subdial at six o’clock. Measuring only 7.5mm thick, the 37mm white gold case is sleek and refined with a thickness that rivals most straps. The case showcases vertical brushing on the sides with a rounded bezel and elegant straight lugs.
Flipping the watch over, you can enjoy a view of Lange’s L941.1 manual-wind movement with 45 hours of running time. A. Lange & Sohne makes no compromises in the production of their timepieces and the masterfully-finished movement is evident of that. The movement is beautifully decorated including the hand-engraved balance cock, a feature that has become synonymous with the Lange brand.
